Description
BJ Fragua, daughter of well-known Jemez potter Juanita Fragua, one of the women considered responsible for the renaissance of Jemez pottery, created this lovely, small jar with traditional methods but in a more contemporary style. The piece features a buff, polished backdrop, hand painted in flower, weather, and geometric designs. The piece is separaed into half moon and rectangular panels, the half moons painted with flower designs and the remaining panels with weather patterns, including lightning and fine lines. The top of the jar is painted with cloud patterns, and the bottom features step patterns just below a red and black speckled band. 3 3/4″ tall x 3 5/8″ wide.
