Sterling silver and turquoise comprise this large, impressive bolo tie by well-known Navajo silversmith Alex Sanchez. The piece depicts a traditional maiden, the head made entirely of sterling silver and set just below the chin with a single, oval turquoise stone. The stone is set in a simple sterling silver bezel and contains portions of brown matrix, while the face of the maiden is stamped with cloud and rain patterns and appliqued with a single whirlwind in Alex’s signature petroglyph style. The maiden’s forhead showcases a soldered sterling panel stamped with fine lines, representing hair, while the head is finished with three appliqued sterling circles on each side, which are slightly repoussed at the center. Long, tubular sterling bolo tips finish the piece beautifully. Maiden measures 2 3/4″ long x 2 3/4″ wide. Bolo measures 21″ from top to bottom.
