Description
Created in the shadowbox style, this large turtle pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration comprises sterling silver and coral. The piece is made up predominantly of sterling silver, with the shell of the turtle featuring rounded triangular cutouts along the edges, while a single red coral piece is set at the center of the shell in a simple sterling silver bezel. Soldered to the turtle’s shadowbox shell are four limbs comprising sterling silver panels stamped with fine lines, as well as a sterling silver head stamped with dots to created eyes. 2 5/8″ long including bail x 1 1/2″ wide.
