Description
Featuring a beautiful, stylized parrot design, this gorgeous Acoma olla was created by hand by David Antonio. The parrot, as legend has it, led the Acoma people to water and was brought to this land by the Spanish. The bird is considered sacred and is highly revered, often featuring in various iterations among multiple Acoma and other Pueblo artists. DAvid painted several parrots along the surface of this piece, each featuring red, orange, black, and white coloration. They are separated by traditional weather patterns including fine lines, which represent rain, and cloud patterns, as well as plant/harvest designs at the bottom. 11″ tall x 11″ wide.
