Adept at creating gorgeous, life-like storyteller pieces, Jemez potter Christlyn Fragua created this figurine showcasing a single woman and four children. The woman is seated, her beautiful skirt painted in grey, black, and red flowing around her legs an the back of her body, while two boys lie on their stomachs along the skirt on either side of her legs. Two girls rest along her stomach, one just below each arm, their hands atop a beautiful buff basked painted in black and grey geometric designs. The woman’s cheeks are rosy and her mouth is open in a circle, as are the children’s mouths, and the piece is finished with a lovely shawl painted in traditional designs in bfuf, blue, red, and black draped along the woman’s head and flowing down her back. 6 1/4″ tall x 5″ wide x 6 1/4″ deep.
