Painted beautifully in a traditional Hopi migration patter on each side, this lovely, small wedding vase was created by potter Adelle Nampeyo. The migration pattern comprises a combination of curving feathers moving in one direction, containing many fine lines, signifying the moving of people to new villages to find new sources of food and water. While the migration pattern is common among Hopi pottery, wedding vases from the Pueblo are rare, making this piece one-of-a-kind. The migration pattern, painted in black and red, stands out beautifully aginst a buff backdrop, while additonal feather patterns in black are painted along the piece’s handle. 5″ tall x 3 3/4″ wide.
