Created and painted by hand by Jemez potter Linda Lucero Fragua, this stunning storyteller figurine features a seated woman with four children. The woman rests with both legs outstretched, her hair pulled up into two buns and a shawl covering her shoulders. He rmouth is open and cheeks are rosy, while two children hang upon her shoulders, one stands on her lap, and one sits on one leg. Each of the children, three boys and one girl, also feature open mouths, while the girl holds a basket painted with a sunface, her arm resting upon a piece of pottery set upon the woman’s other leg, and the boy in her lap holds a drum. Each of the figures is painted in various colors, including black, red, grey, brown, and beige. The back of the woman’s shawl features beautifully painted step and geometric designs, while the piece of pottery showcases patterns that mimic it. 6 3/4″ tall x 3 1/8″ wide x 5″ deep.
