Carved entirely from Picasso marble ranging from black to brown to beige in color, this impressive mountain lion was made by Navajo artist Stewart Alonzo. The piece showcases turquoise inlaid eyes as well as a turquoise inlaid heart line along one side, in addition to a medicine bundle tied with shell heishi, turquoise, coral, and a white mother of pearl arrowhead. In many Native American cultures, mountain lions are considered directional guardian fetishes and prey gods of the North. They are associated with personal power and resourcefulness, independence, leadership, spiritual intensity, intuition, fierce protectiveness, and loyalty. 7/8″ tall x 5/8″ wide x 4″ long.
