Description
Two bears, standing side by side, are carved from rootbeer alabaster in this large, impressive fetish by Navajo carver Stewart Alonzo. Each bear is carved with two paws extending forward over the stomach, their eyes accented with turquoise. The bears hold a single mother of pearl fish in their mouths, while one bear’s neck is accented with turquoise, and the other, with turquoise and coral. In many Native American cultures, bears symbolize courage, physical strengt,h and leadership. 4″ tall x 3 1/8″ wide x 2 1/2″ deep.
