Carved from a compressed mixture of turquoise and orange spiny oyster shell, this adorable dancing bear fetish was created by Zuni carver Claudine Peina. The bear lifts one leg off the ground, the opposite arm out to its side, and its head tilted back in jubilation. Its eyes are set with turquoise, with additional turquoise accents set along the neck, while gold resin used to meld the turquoise and orange spiny together adding additional shine and interest to the piece. In many Native American cultures, the bear is said to symbolize courage, strength, and leadership. 2 1/8″ tall x 2 5/8″ wide x 3/4″ deep.
