Description
Two corn maidens set back to back are carved from elk antler in this traditional Zuni fetish. The piece features delicate etching of criss-crossed fine lines and turquoise and coral accents, with one of the maidens showcasing crushed turquoise in a pot atop the head. The maiden opposite showcases a tableta surrounding its head, and it is slightly smaller in stature. Corn Maidens are considered to bring the very power of life to the people in many Native American cultures. 4 1/2″ tall x 1″ wide x 2 1/4″ deep.
